Bingo.com posted a net loss of US$27,977 in the three months to June 30 2010, the company announced on Friday, despite receiving an equity investment of US$2.25m from Unibet for a 26% share in the business. This figure was however an improvement on the US$266,702 loss recorded during the comparable quarter in the prior year. Total revenue decreased 76% to US$369,000, from US$1.5m, which the company blamed on a loss of gaming activity resulting from the migration of its players to Unibet’s platform.
The Football Pools has relaunched its website, offering a range of new accumulator-style pools games and complementary games. The site also now offers live pools statistics, enabling customers to see where other players are placing their bets to establish best value. FootballPools.com owner Sportech says this will increase its appeal to the savvy bettor, further boosting potential revenue for operators offering the games across their sites. Additional content includes ‘Challenge Hansen’, where Football Pools players can attempt to out-predict former Liverpool football club player and BBC Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen to win bonus prizes each week.
