Betfred has launched a new mobile offering, available on Android and Apple devices. The app allows betting on all major sports, and also includes a mobile version of the operator’s ‘Goals Galore’ football coupon.
Jersey could still become the third of the Channel Islands to regulate egaming, but will have to wait a little longer before laws are introduced. Further scrutiny of the proposed legislation was ordered by Deputy Mike Higgins, despite the island’s parliament showing widespread support for the licensing of online gaming operators in a vote held earlier this week.
Finnish state operator RAY has seen its gaming revenue grow by 24m in 2010, marking a year-on-year growth of 3.7%, it revealed in its yearly results. The growth was helped by a 4.8% rise in slot machine revenue, which provided 79% of the operator’s overall revenue.
French operators have refused to pay European football governing body UEFA a proportion of bets placed on matches in their competitions. According to reports in La Tribune, UEFA had sought to take 1% of bets placed on Europa League and Champions League games as part of a ‘right to gamble.’ However, no operators have signed an agreement with UEFA, with some believing the governing body is yet to prove it is justified in collecting from bets placed on European competitions.
Patrick Raude has joined the management committee of La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ) as director of regulatory and European affairs, according to Les Echos. 45-year-old Raude, a former advisor to French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin between 2002-2005, will be a contact point with regulator ARJEL with relation to FDJ’s sports betting operations.
