Former BetClic Everest chairman Stéphane Courbit has revealed that the company “could make acquisitions in Spain and Germany,” according to an interview in French newspaper Le Figaro. Despite being the leader in online sports betting in France with a 45% market share, an aggressive marketing push “ including the sponsorship of football clubs Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais “ contributed to losses in 2010,the newspaper added. Courbit, who last year slammed French gaming legislation, has yet to go into detail on the nature of any potential acquisitions.
The court case between 32Red and William Hill Online (WHO) resumes this morning. 32Red won a High Court injunction against WHO in February following a two-year trademark dispute, and the company is now set to discover how much it is entitled to in legal costs.
Software developer Viaden has been granted a software supplier certificate by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). The company, which recently launched its white-label casino application for Apple devices, received an Isle of Man licence in January. It has also taken on its first Alderney-based client in Russian sports betting company Marathonbet.
PartyGaming‘s World Poker Tour (WPT) brand has partnered with Poker Road Radio, in a deal that will see the broadcaster transmit live shows during a number of WPT events. The agreement will span the three tournaments between now and May 20.
