News in brief: 32Red revenues up 42%; Betsson makes additional Betsafe payment
Operator's share price reaches a high of 37.25 pence per share after record H1 revenues.
32Red has recorded record H1 revenues of £11m, up 42% year-on-year, the operator announced today in its interim results for the six months ended 30 June. The operator’s share price has also risen to record levels in the light of the latest figures, and sits at 37.25 pence a share at the time of writing, up more than 7% from the start of trading this morning.
Following its acquisition of Betsafe in May, Betsson has paid the first additional purchase price of 15m in the form of shares. The payment has been made after Betsafe met the agreed-upon targets for 2011, and if it meets the remainder of targets over the coming months then the remaining 12.5m will be paid by the end of Q1 2012.
French cashback-based affiliate site BetPocket has announced Bwin.fr as its latest partner following the merging of Sajoo into Bwin France, according to iGaming France. The site, which has a similar deal with the French-facing business of Pokerstars, provides poker players and bettors with bonuses on Bwin.fr when they spend money with any of a number of retail partners such as Virgin Mobile and NikeStore.
Amaya Gaming has signed a 20-year contract to become the exclusive provider of gaming systems to the Moldovan national lottery, the Canadian company announced this week. The deal covers lottery, VLTs, sports betting and digital gaming, and according to a release from Amaya it “has the potential to generate recurring revenues in excess of $20 million annually”.
PokerStars has parted ways with three of its American sponsored pros, according to Pokernews. The players affected are former World Series of Poker main event champion Tom McEvoy, as well as Dennis Phillips and Bill Chen, meaning only nine of PokerStars’ remaining 58 pros are from the United States. The operator had an unknown amount of money returned by US authorities from a Luxembourgish bank account last week, but $5.5m derived from the play of American customers remains under DoJ control.
