New Bubble Protection poker product launched
Endorsed by British poker pro Chris Moorman, the product offers a refund for players finishing narrowly outside the money in online tournaments.
Las Vegas company Bubble Protection has launched its eponymous product, which provides poker players with a refund if they finish just outside the paid places in an online poker tournament.
The product is endorsed by British poker pro and World Series of Poker Europe runner-up Chris Moorman (pictured), and uses technology from tracking site Poker Pro Labs.
According to CIO and director of legal affairs Randall Kasper, “Bubble Protection will be offered only in jurisdictions that permit online poker…[but]… we are anxiously awaiting the future opportunity to offer this sensible bankroll management tool to U.S. players.”
Unlike the ‘Beat the Bubble’ product created earlier this year by PartyPoker’s former head of poker networks Hilly Ehrlich, Bubble Protection offers a flat refund for players finishing within 10% of the paid places in a tournament, rather than paying different amounts for different levels of protection. For example if 10% of the field is paid, those finishing outside the top 10% but inside the top 20% will receive a refund on their buy-in and rake fee.
Poker sites currently compatible with Bubble Protection include PartyPoker, PokerStars and Playtech’s iPoker network.
