MyPok reopens after Partouche migration
Site formed by merger with PokerXtrem relaunches with 20,000 guaranteed tournament.
ARJEL-licensed poker site MyPok.fr has relaunched on Partouche’s French network after moving from Microgaming and 888’s joint network in the country.
Formed by the merger of MyPok and PokerXtrem in July, the site opted to retain the MyPok brand name but confirmed in August that it would be moving onto the Partouche network before the end of the year.
It held a tournament last night with a 20,000 guaranteed prizepool to celebrate the relaunch, while it also intends to hold satellites to the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT), whose inaugural event will take place in London next year. The event will take place at Wembley Stadium after receiving clearance from Brent Council to use the venue in August, while in the same month the Amateur Poker Association and Tour (APAT) was announced as an official partner of the event.
Prosper Masquelier, chief executive of the ISPT, is one of the founders of PokerXtrem, which was awarded an operating licence by ARJEL in July 2010.
The site has expanded its team of sponsored pros and brand ambassadors, which now includes French poker player Stéphane Benadiba – who cashed in this year’s World Series of Poker main event – as well as France international footballer Cédric Carrasso and rapper JoeyStarr.
