Mybet faces uncertain future as site shuts down
Operator pledges to return player funds and says there are no current plans to sell the mybet operations or technology
German operator mybet has shut down its mybet.com domain after announcing plans to file for insolvency last month.
The operator said in a statement it had taken the decision to close the site “in order to protect the interests of customers and creditors”.
Players will still be able to withdraw funds under the Malta Gaming Authority’s player protection regulation, although mybet asked customer for patience.
The mybet site has been replaced with a notice to players that says: “Sportsbook and casino offer paused. Your open bets will be canceled and the stakes will be credited to your mybet account. The sports section will be gone, but all account features will be showing once logged in.”

Speaking to EGR Intel, a mybet spokesperson said the firm that operated mybet, Malta-Based PEI Ltd, was not filing for insolvency and there were no current plans to sell the technology or player database.
“It is simply too early to talk about any selling off,” the spokesperson said. “The status of the site is effectively mothballed.”
