Mr Green appoints new legal counsel
Former in-house lawyer for Unibet Matti Metsola joins casino operator's Malta HQ team.
Online casino operator Mr Green has appointed Matti Metsola as its new in-house legal counsel at its headquarters in Malta.
Metsola, a Finnish lawyer specialising in regulatory markets, has previously worked as an in-house lawyer for Unibet at the operator’s headquarters in London. He joins Mr Green from Applex Attorneys where he spent just over a year as a senior associate.
Commenting on his appointment Metsola said: “I’m thrilled to join the industry again and in particular about the opportunity to work with Mr Green. Mr Green has rapidly established itself as a major player in its key markets. I believe that the focus on the softer sides like player protection and transparency towards the customers has been a big part of making Mr Green a popular online casino.”
Stina Reutercrona, information director at Mr Green, added: “As more and more European countries are opting for slightly different choices in a number of parameters of regulation, the sheer volume of the rules that companies in our industry have to comply with is impressive. It’s evident why regulatory compliance is an essential function of any successful company in the gaming business.”
Earlier this year Mr Green brought in Ella Hall from Gamesys as its first-ever chief marketing officer as part of the restructuring of the group into three divisions.
Her move followed a flurry of other senior appointments, with Karl Bjerke joined as COO from Nordic Gaming Group in September last year, while November saw Reutercrona promoted to information director and Keld Knudsen hired as group CFO from Unibet.
