Mr Green signs up Michael Vaughan for sportsbook push
Ex-England cricket captain hired as a new ambassador to help drive the operator’s UK expansion
Mr Green has hired former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan as a new brand ambassador as the operator looks to build its sports betting business in the UK market.
The former batsman will become the operator’s Sports Gent as part of the long-term deal, and will see Vaughan share his expertise via exclusive video and written content across all platforms.
“Michael fits the brand perfectly as he’s a gentleman himself with great insight and opinions on various sports, not just cricket,” Enda Gaffney, head of sportsbook at Mr Green, said.
“This type of deal will see us better engage our players via exclusive content and further add to the entertaining experience at Mr Green.”
Mr Green made its sportsbook debut last year ahead of the Euro 2016 tournament, having previously only offered casino games, with the launch of a Kambi-powered sports betting product.
“Mr Green is just that little bit different and that’s what I like about them,” Vaughan said.
“There are some great sporting events coming up over the next few months, from the British Lions tour to the Ashes, the Premier League will be back before we know it, and I’m looking forward to giving out some great tips and offers.”
Earlier this month, Mr Green announced it had appointed Paddy Power Betfair’s former director of integration and Malta MD Antoine Bonello as its new chief operating officer (COO).
