Mobile drives 36% rise in Sky Betting & Gaming revenues
Operator's mobile channel accounts for 80% of full-year revenues staked via its Sky Bet brand
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has today reported a 36% year-on-year rise in full-year revenues as investment in the operator’s technology and mobile platforms continues to pay-off.
According to figures for the year-ended 30 June 2015, group revenues increased from ?183m in 2013-14 to ?247m last year, with mobile accounting for 80% of Sky Bet revenues.
The Leeds-headquartered operator’s sportsbook brand recorded a 56% rise in revenues to ?117m for the 12-month period, while revenues from Sky Gaming also hit ?117m following a 20% increase.
The total number of customers across the business increased to 1.48 million, while the company was able to enhance its average revenue per customer by 33%.
The figures announced today mark the first set of financial results released by the firm following its acquistion by CVC Partners in March 2015.
The firm had previously said revenues for the eight-and-a-half month period prior to sale completion totalled ?158m, meaning the final three-and-a-half months post-sale saw a revenue return of ?89m.
SB&G chief executive Richard Flint applauded the work of its in-house development teams which he said played a crucial role in the operator having one of the highest mobile revenue rates in the sector.
“During the year, we invested in both our technology and mobile platforms from our base in Yorkshire and this has helped drive our strong performance,” Flint said.
“We will maintain our focus on these two key areas in 2016 while also growing our team to ensure we are well placed to deliver another strong year of growth,” he added.
The operator was recently the only gambling company named on the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list and is currently in the process of hiring for hundreds of roles across the business.
Last year SB&G kicked-off a huge recruitment drive and opened new offices in Sheffield and Rome to aid its launch in Italy, which is expected to take place in the summer.
