Mobile accounts for 68% of Paddysâ online revenues
 Operator sees double-digit growth in mobile gaming and sportsbook
Paddy Power today reported an 11% rise in online operating profits, with the firm attributing much of its success to the continued growth of the mobile channel.
Handheld devices accounted for 68% of the firmâs £850m online revenues, up from 55% in 2014, with 87% of Paddysâ online customers transacting over mobile.
Paddy Power recently released an update to its mobile app which included live sports streaming, a dedicated Cheltenham Festival section and a new One Touch betting function.
Sportsbook net revenues grew 13% with stakes growth of 8% to £2.5bn. Mobile stakes grew 21% to â¬2.1 billion, or 66% of online stakes, with 81% of online sportsbook customers transacting via mobile in December.
For comparison, mobile provided 80% of Sky Bet stakes in 2015 and 70% of Coral sportsbook stakes in Q1 FY16.
Gaming and âotherâ revenues were up 10% to £129m, while mobile gaming net revenues increased by 46%, accounting for 55% of total online gaming.
The figures were released alongside pro forma 2015 results for the newly-formed Paddy Power Betfair, but no mobile numbers were broken out.
Betfair also released its Q3 FY16 figures for the three month period ended 31 January 2016. The firm did not reveal overall mobile figures but said that gaming revenue was up 20% to £29m thanks to strong growth in mobile revenues (up 63%).
