Micro-lottery start-up eyes UK launch
Malta-based Honeypotlotto is looking for potential commercial partners to further its growth
Micro-lottery start-up Honeypotlotto is aiming to launch in the UK early next year, EGR can reveal.
The product has been live in various markets on a Malta licence for approximately three months, with a lotto game that allows punters to enter quickfire draws with big pay-outs.
Honeypotlotto CEO Rodney Andriolo told EGR the business was aiming to soft launch in the UK early next year.
“Whilst it’s the toughest market, it’s also one of the largest,” Andriolo said.
“We see our product as a disruptor, and a small market percentage in a English-speaking market is a key metric for our business growth. Furthermore we have had an increasing level of English players asking us about our micro lottery.
The operator, which runs under the tagline: “Small wins go a long way,” said it has also seen interest from the US, one of the largest lottery markets in the world.
Anriolo said the firm is looking for investment or commercial relationships that can help the start-up grow further.
“We’re open to discuss how we can grow our business and we want to talk to everyone but we would like to progress under our own steam because we are starting to resonate with players,” Andriolo said.
The CEO, a former IT management consultant, played down comparison with the likes of Lottoland, saying Honeypotlotto was trying to create its own niche.
“I think that the market is broad enough for us to compete at the level of market share we want,” Andriolo added.
