Michael Owen becomes BetVictor brand ambassador
Former England international to provide regular column and tweets under terms of three-year deal
BetVictor has appointed former Liverpool, Real Madrid and England footballer Michael Owen as its global brand ambassador.
Owen, who retired from the sport in 2013, will produce regular columns for the BetVictor.com site and also produce regular tweets for the operator’s accounts on Twitter and Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo over the next three years.
“Michael is a genuine sporting icon, instantly recognisable throughout the world and, as a global brand, we see Michael and BetVictor as the perfect fit,” Victor Chandler, chairman at BetVictor, said.
Owen already serves as a brand ambassador for sports betting firm Colossus Bets and most recently agreed to feature alongside other retired sportsmen Michael Vaughan and Ricky Hatton in the sports-based casino game 5050Sports, which BetVictor launched in September last year.
“With my sporting experience and knowledge, as well as my social media reach”¦ I am really looking forward to helping BetVictor develop and expand their brand into new markets around the world,” Owen said.
