mFortune signs deal with major UK news publisher
Mobile bingo and casino operator's games to be displayed to 17 million unique browsers throughout Local World's array of regional titles
Mobile gaming specialists mFortune has tied-up with major UK local newspaper publisher Local World in a deal which will see the operator’s bingo and casino games made available across the publisher’s entire portfolio of titles.
The multi-year agreement includes both online and offline properties of Local World’s 73 regional newspapers and includes mFortunes entire catalogue of bingo and casino games.
The deal, which went live at the start of this week, has seen mFortune integrate its platform onto the various Local World websites, which last month attracted more than 17 million unique browsers.
Users of the local news websites will now see a ‘Gaming’ tab at the top of the page which, when clicked, will display mFortune’s roster of games.
Simon Llanos, head of marketing and business development at mFortune, told eGaming Review it had been working on a deal with Local World for some time.
“We wanted to be able to deliver mobile gaming entertainment in a local, well trusted context and a company of the size and heritage of Local World is a perfect fit,” Llanos said.
“Whilst it is very early days we have seen a very encouraging early uptake which are looking forward to growing into a very successful partnership,” he added.
According to Local World’s figures for June, 61% of users accessed its sites using either a mobile or tablet device with 88% of its audience derived from the UK.
“We see this partnership with mFortune as a step forward in being able to offer a holistic entertainment offering to our readership,” Katherine Maltby, head of commercial partnerships at Local World, said.
“mFortune is an ideal partner for this venture given its range of games and flexibility of owning all its own technology which allows us to use a multi-screen strategy and deliver a solution however our readers may choose to consume,” she added.
