Mecca launches new mobile Emoji bingo game
New game replaces numbers with emojis as operator looks to target younger demographic
Mecca Bingo has launched a new mobile bingo game as part of an effort to create a fast-paced bingo variant targeted at younger players.
Emoji Bingo was developed in conjunction with Virtue Fusion, which created a bespoke 50-ball mobile bingo engine upon which the emoji concept has been overlaid.
Traditional bingo balls have been replaced with emojis and users purchase a single ticket with 10 unique emojis in each game.
âWe are definitely targeting a younger demographic,â Rank Groupâs director of mobile Simon Woolf told eGR Mobile Intelligence. âAccording to research, Emojis are the fastest growing language in the world and we see our social channel as one of the key areas to market the game given the prevalent use of emojis in that space,â he added.
Woolf said the concept fits well with the Mecca brand and should also appeal to existing customers, adding that users will be able interact with the emojis as they are drawn when playing within the operatorâs native iOS app.
Earlier this year Rank Group rolled out a new fully responsive mobile website for its Mecca Bingo brand as part of a greater overhaul of its digital product.
