MDI extends NBA partnership
Scientific Games subsidiary to offer NBA-branded games for a further six years.
Scientific Games subsidiary MDI Entertainment has signed a six-year extension to its licensing deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA).
The deal, initially signed in 2002, allows the company to offer NBA-branded games to lotteries, and follows a similar deal between MDI and American soccer governing body Major League Soccer (MLS).
Prizes for the branded games include official merchandise from the basketball association, whose finals series was won last year by the Dallas Mavericks.
Steve Saferin, president, properties group and chief creative officer for Scientific Games, said: “There is an enormous demand for the NBA, and we are pleased to be able to offer a great assortment of NBA merchandise packages and licensed games featuring the team logos and player images for fans nationwide.”
