Matchbook launches site to help punters win more
Exchange firm says new Knowledge Base platform will help "bettors make smarter, more profitable decisions"
Betting exchange Matchbook has launched a new microsite designed to inform and educate punters about smarter gambling and the mechanics of its exchange.
The initial launch of the site, called the Knowledge Base, features articles of varying levels of complexity, from details of the Martingale staking system, down to an explanation of laying a bet.
“Knowledge is power, and nowhere is this truer than in the world of betting,” said the firm in a statement. “The more you understand, the more you win and being armed with the information to spot and capitalise on the best bets is the difference between winning and losing.”
The new site aims to take advantage of the fact that bettors with Matchbook are not betting against the house, but rather against fellow players.
According to Matchbook, the site contains “the information traditional bookmakers don’t want customers to know, such as when you should and shouldn’t bet and how to recognise a good bet from a bad one, and how to make more from every bet you make”.
Ian Noctor, Matchbook’s head of communications, added: “At Matchbook we’re committed to giving our customers the means to make the most informed betting decisions. In simple terms we want to make them better bettors. Our new Knowledge Base is packed with concise easy-to-follow betting guides, written by experts covering a wide range of topics.”
The new site will sit alongside Matchbook’s existing Lounge, which features previews on a range of sporting events.
Matchbook is also working on new ways to leverage its betting previews and content to engage customers, in the form of personalised mobile notifications, according to product manager Neil Campbell.
For example if a customer is looking at his phone at 4.30pm on a Friday, Matchbook might send lengthier previews, whereas if its 2.45pm on a Saturday, just before kick-off, they might show customers a quick bet recommendation.
