Matchbook completes first diversification into casino
Betting exchange operator launches first casino products, with further games also in the pipeline
Betting exchange operator Matchbook has marked its first diversification away from sports betting with the launch of its first casino games.
Matchbook CEO Mark Brosnan first revealed plans to diversify into casino when speaking to eGaming Review in April, and now the games have been released to coincide with the start of the World Cup.
The games use a split screen capability that allows customers to play on both the new in-house casino offering and check sports betting markets simultaneously.
The operator has added blackjack and roulette titles to a new casino tab on its desktop offering, allowing customers to play casino games using their sports betting accounts and wallets.
Five additional table games are to be added in the coming weeks, while mobile-optimised versions will be integrated later in the year.
Matchbook has also released new Android and iPad-optimised apps in time for the ongoing World Cup, complementing the firm’s existing iPhone app that was released in November last year.
“This is obviously a very exciting time for us as we head into the first major tournament since the re-launch of the Matchbook brand,” Cian Nugent, COO at Matchbook.com, said.
“To be able to deliver all of these products in time for the World Cup is a testament to the time and investment put in to upgrading our core technology last year.”
