Matchbook to expand markets and live betting following platform switch
Exchange operator says the transition to new proprietary platform will create a faster, more resilient site
Matchbook has completed the migration of all sports onto a new proprietary betting platform, with football the final sport to be switched over on Tuesday.
The platform, which has been in development for more than a year, was initially launched with horseracing in July, with other sports being shifted over gradually.
Matchbook told customers the new platform would mean faster bet-placement times, a more reliable and resilient website and more markets and live betting.
The site now offers two wallets, one for sports betting, and one for casino and Colossus betting.
The firm said in an email to customers: “With all sports now migrated to the new platform and a single sports wallet we thank you for your patience over the past number of months during this transitional period, and with a far better betting experience now on Matchbook, we know it will have all been worth it.”
The site also recently re-jigged its commission structure as it sought to encourage more punters to offer bets rather than simply taking available prices.
