Marketing and mobile boost NetPlay Q4 growth by 33%
Alderney-licensed operator to continue marketing push with bingo sponsorship deal of STV's Loose Women show
Interactive TV gaming company NetPlay TV is looking to build on its marketing push in 2013 after recording a 33% year-on-year increase in Q4 revenues.
New marketing initiatives helped the TV casino operator post total net revenues of £7.9m in the final quarter of 2013, compared to £5.9m in the same period the previous year, according to its year-end results.
Speaking to eGaming Review this morning, NetPlay TV CEO Charles Butler said its marketing efforts had continued to pay off and highlighted tablets as an important area for future growth.
“Throughout 2013 we increased marketing spend for pure online customer recruitment to complement our existing strong TV presence,” he said.
NetPlay has announced new TV sponsorships to maintain this growth including a deal for its Vernons Bingo brand to become the 2014 title sponsor of lunchtime TV programme Loose Women on STV and maintaining SuperCasino’s sponsorship of Channel Five reality TV gameshow Big Brother.
The Alderney licensed operator acquired the Vernons business from Sportech for £3m in October and NetPlay said the integration of the brand will be completed in time for new marketing initiatives this year.
Mobile also continued to be a strong growth driver for the company after net revenues from the platform rose 121% year-on-year and accounted for 30% of total net revenue.
“Mobile is a material revenue driver for the business now,” Butler added. “The strongest growth so far has come from smartphones and in particular iPhone. However, with the number of tablets now in the market we expect to see this as a key area for 2014.”
NetPlay TV’s directors said in a statement that they were confident the firm would meet its full-year market expectations following its recent financial performance.
