Mansion shuts down Dutch casino accounts
Dutch casino customers have been blocked from playing and depositing with the Gibraltar-licensed operator
Mansion has today closed the casino accounts of its Dutch players after losing an historic appeal over a €150,000 fine imposed by Dutch regulator KSA.
Mansion, which operates in the Netherlands under the Casino.com and Mansion Casino brands, has blocked playing and depositing on all Dutch accounts today, with full account closures expected by October 10.
The account closures are the result of a long-running dispute between the Gibraltar-licensed operator and the KSA after the regulator fined Mansion €150,000 in 2013 for targeting Dutch players by offering online games of chance in the Dutch language.
Mansion appealed the decision, contesting the penalty most recently in the Hague District Court.
However, the case finally reached its conclusion last week when the Netherlands’ Council of State sided with the KSA by insisting the regulator was correct to impose the fine.
Mansion declined to comment on the story.
