LeoVegas partners Kambi for sportsbook launch
The deal will see the operator diversify beyond casino for the first time and help expand into new markets
Malta-headquartered firm LeoVegas has struck a deal with Kambi to launch a new sportsbook during H1 2016 as part of the operator’s first major diversification from online casino games.
The deal will see the mobile casino integrate Kambi’s managed sportsbook solution into its platform, which LeoVegas brought in-house during mid-2015, and also help the firm expand into new international markets.
The award-winning operator has been busy hiring for a number of sportsbook-related roles in recent months ahead of the launch, including a new head of sportsbook, sportsbook manager and a sports betting-focused affiliate manager.
LeoVegas group CEO and co-founder, Gustaf Hagman, said he was confident the company could translate its success on mobile within the casino vertical in sports betting as well.
“LeoVegas mobile gaming group’s success to date has been based on a passion for the greatest gaming experience, innovation and a genuine mobile first focus,” he said.
“At LeoVegas, we would never compromoise on the customer experience and in sports we believe no one has yet taken the mobile leadership position,” Hagman added.
Sportsbook supplier Kambi also said it was looking forward to working with LeoVegas as it looks to build on its existing client base including Paf, Unibet and 888.
“We are excited to work with LeoVegas as our services will complement their existing casino offering with a premium sports betting service that will accelerate growth,” Kambi CEO, Kristian Nyl?n, said.
“Our mutual interest in driving innovation in mobile sports betting forms a powerful foundation for this partnership,” he continued.
