LeoVegas scraps CMO role and restructures marketing department
CMO responsibilities will now be shared between new arrivals Petra Blixt and Claes af Burén after Louise Nylén’s promotion to deputy CEO
LeoVegas has scrapped its CMO role and simultaneously restructured its marketing department with the appointment of a new communications director and two marketing directors.
The Swedish operator has recruited Irena Busic as its new communications director, who will be responsible for PR and all LeoVegas press and internal communications.
Most recently, Busic worked as head of global PR for Hyper Island and also has experience as managing director of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
“LeoVegas is in an interesting stage right now,” said Busic. “The much-needed upcoming regulation of the gaming market here in Sweden will lead to better transparency and a bigger need for communication.
“On a personal note I also like the company’s focus on tech,” she added.
The operator’s marketing strategy will now be handled by new additions Petra Blixt and Claes af Burén after former CMO Louise Nylén was promoted to deputy CEO.
Blixt was previously head of acquisitions at LeoVegas while Burén is the co-founder of DamnGoodAgency. The pair will be based in Malta.
Blixt will be focused on digital marketing and conversion, while Burén will be responsible for the broader brand strategy.
“I have a very positive view of our work on strengthening our marketing department and leadership with these two great people,” said Nylén.
“With this change, we have more clearly defined the responsibilities in marketing and have added brand-building expertise, which gives us even better opportunities for sustainable growth.”
