LeoVegas expands into bingo

LeoVegas has launched bingo on its mobile app as the casino operator looks to expand its portfolio of verticals. The new category is accessible in both the Android and iOS versions of the LeoVegas app and also through desktop. “Today we have a broader and larger customer base than ever before, and it is growing strongly,” LeoVegas CEO Gustaf Hagman said. “To meet the growing demand for entertaining games we are now launching bingo, a social, simple and fun game for people in all target groups,” he added.

The product has already been released in the UK, but EGR understands this category will now be expanded into other European markets. “The potential for digitalisation of bingo is great,” LeoVegas chief product and technology officer Mattias Wedar told EGR. “It is a natural expansion of the entertainment that we offer our customers. We’re seeing really promising early results and activity,” Wedar added. The Malta-based operator cited a H2 Gaming Capital estimate that only 23% of the €2bn total global bingo market is currently played online. LeoVegas reported a Q2 2020 year-on-year revenue increase of 17% to €110.7m in August.
