LeoVegas becomes latest member of Netherlands Online Gambling Association
Stockholm-listed operator signs up to Dutch trade association ahead of October market launch
The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) has welcomed LeoVegas as its newest member.
As the operator was founded in 2012, it will become the youngest member of the NOGA.
The acceptance of LeoVegas is a further step forward in the trade body’s long-term goal to represent the majority of online gambling providers in the legal Dutch market.
NOGA believes it is essential for operators to join forces to combat industry headwinds, such as ensuring a high level of protection for consumers.
Responsible gambling and creating a level playing field for all operators in the market are also priority areas for NOGA.
Peter-Paul de Goeij, managing director of NOGA, said: “Like the other members of NOGA, LeoVegas takes consumer protection and responsible gambling extremely seriously and leads the way with initiatives like LeoCare.
“We look forward to closely working together with them to the greater good of the Dutch gambling market,” he added.
Daniel Valiollahi, director of communications and public affairs at LeoVegas, is looking forward to the Dutch market introducing local licences that will promote fairer competition from 1 October when the market goes live.
In March, NOGA produced the annual NOGA Online Gambling Barometer, in partnership with market research company Ipsos.
The barometer is a multi-year data-driven study on the Dutch gambling market.
Channelisation and responsible gambling were some of the key themes examined within the report.
