Former Kambi employees Dave Gowers and Craig Nicholson have launched a new horseracing-focused betting site in partnership with sportsbook supplier FSB Technology.
BlackType.bet was officially launched last week and is the brainchild of the former Kambi duo along with Mylo Sangster, the grandson of racehorse owner and breeder Robert Sangster.
The website, which is already featured on the Oddschecker grid, is backed by a social media presence across Facebook and Twitter, and in addition to racing, offers markets on football and tennis.
Powered by FSB, Black Type allows certain sports markets to be controlled by its own in-house trading team while others are managed by FSB’s London-based traders.
Sky Bet makes Italy debut with Super 6 launch
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has made its Italian debut with the launch of its popular Super 6 product, marking the operator’s first venture outside of the UK market.
The Leeds-headquartered firm unveiled an Italian version of its popular free-to-play game over the weekend, enabling customers to win 100,000 for correctly predicting the scores of six Serie A games.
The game is open to over 18s only, who can sign up via Facebook, Twitter or Gmail, and features a weekly 2,000 prize if no player guesses all the correct results.

Fortuna strikes Playtech omni-channel deal
Central and Eastern European-focused operator Fortuna has signed a deal with Playtech to utilise the supplier giant’s omni-channel technology across its core markets.
The agreement was announced alongside Playtech’s H1 financial results and will see the firm provide Fortuna with its omni-channel betting and gaming platform in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
Playtech’s platform will enable the operator to develop a Fortuna-customised omni-channel solution via seamless wallet technology and CRM tools.
888 to merge brands for Romania stay
888 Holdings will unify its casino, poker and sports brands in Romania under a new localised site after securing a full licence to continue its operations in the market.
The 888.ro site will merge its 888casino, 888poker and 888sport brands allowing customers to access all three verticals from a single gaming account.
“Our flagship brands, 888poker, 888casino and 888sport, operate in several regulated markets around the world, including the United Kingdom, Spain and Denmark, and have been an online destination of choice in these markets for years,” Itai Frieberger, chief executive officer of 888 Holdings, said.
GVC and Amaya secure Romanian licences
GVC Holdings and Amaya have received approval to continue operating in the Romanian online gambling market after receiving full licences from the country’s regulator.
The two companies had both been operating in Romania under an interim licence since 1 September 2015 and have now been granted new 10-year licences by the National Gambling Office (ONJN).
GVC, which had operated its Sportingbet brand during the interim period, is now free to operate sports betting and casino games via its Headlong Limited subsidiary.
