Ladbrokes launches new poker app
App launched for iOS and Android simultaneously and becomes the first UK poker app to offer PayPal deposits
Ladbrokes has launched a new poker app, the first new poker product launched by the operator since it migrated to Playtech’s iPoker from Microgaming’s MPN poker network.
The native app, launched on iOS and Android simultaneously, feature cash tables and speed poker variants and becomes the first poker application for the UK market to facilitate deposits from eBay-owned payments provider PayPal.
“Ladbrokes is the first UK gaming company under the iPoker network to release a native mobile application available for Android and iOS,” Yoel Zuckerberg, head of poker at Ladbrokes, said.
“An improved gaming experience is certainly on the cards for our poker customers, and we’re confident the app will open many doors for our highly valued Ladbrokes Poker players,” he added
The operator first revealed it was to leave Microgaming’s poker network in December last year before completing the migration to Playtech’s iPoker network later that month.
The migration formed part of Ladbrokes’ wider switch to Playtech’s full suite of online gaming products and followed the launch of a Mobenga-powered mobile sportsbook and online casino products.
Ladbrokes revealed that H1 poker revenues fell 60% year-on-year last month but targeted a return to growth in H2 on the back of new products and platforms.
