Ladbrokes director of media David Williams resigns
The 'Magic Sign Man’ to leave operator following 13 years’ service at the end of next month
Ladbrokes director of media David Williams will leave the firm at the end of June, EGR Intel has learned.
The media and PR specialist told EGR Intel he had resigned to “seek a fresh challenge”, having joined the Magic Sign via its graduate scheme in 2004.
“I’ve enjoyed a hugely rewarding time at Ladbrokes, arriving 13 years ago on the graduate scheme and most recently in my role as the director of media,” Williams said.
“During that time I’ve valued the support of some outstanding colleagues and made some first-class friends who encouraged and allowed me to work in a wonderful industry.
“Heading up the PR charge with Ladbrokes was a real privilege but it now feels like a good time to seek a fresh challenge and I’m relishing the prospect of exploring new opportunities.
“To those who helped to make my years with the Magic Sign so special, I’m extremely thankful,” he added.

David Williams will leave Ladbrokes next month following 13 years’ service
Ladbrokes staff were informed of Williams’ imminent departure earlier today, with chief customer officer Kristof Fahy paying tribute to the ‘Magic Sign Man’.
“David has been one of the most familiar faces and voices of the bookmaking world for many years, always leading from the front to ensure the Ladbrokes brand was celebrated and recognised over and above competitors,” Fahy said.
“He has shown real ability to not only build and develop a strong and loyal team, but has helped to lead the business through some challenging and exciting times both internally and across the consumer and corporate media,” he added.
The Ladbrokes PR team, consisting of Jessica Bridge and Nicola McGeady, will continue to be led by Williams until his departure during which time Fahy said he would consider how the team would operate in the longer term.
