Kindred to promote Bettor Time app in latest RG initiative
New app to record user activity using unique software to flag up potential gambling addiction behaviour
Kindred Group has joined forces with Assissa to promote an app that can help to identify the first signs of gambling addiction.
The Bettor Time app has been developed by Zafty Intelligence, a leading company in mobile mental health assessment, which was created by using proprietary machine learning software.
It is a development that highlights unique changes in user behaviour that could be associated with the deterioration of mental health.
Android customers will be the first to use the app followed by those on iOS.
Overall, the aim is to accelerate access to the app across all markets and the wider industry.
The app works by using Zafty’s machine learning algorithms, which takes in the recorded activity of a user’s behaviour.
Once a baseline has been established for a user, any deviation from typical patterns can be detected, no matter how subtle, as even the most understated change could be that first step towards gambling addiction.
The app will then recommend features and offer support to the user based on the depth of gambling pattern variations, in the hope that their gambling activity will return to a healthier level.
Assissa will manage the app and will control and distribute the data for academic research.
Maris Catania, head of responsible gambling and research for Kindred Group, said: “For us, promoting the Bettor Time app is a given, and it is in line with our commitment of 0% revenue from harmful gambling by 2023.
“This app can help users make better informed decisions about their gambling. We are proud to promote this app and I recommend other operators to follow,” she added.
