Kindred collaborates with website blocker to boost social responsibility
Nordic operator aims to help problem gamblers “find an appropriate solution” through its partnership with gamban
Kindred Group has joined forces with UK-based software firm gamban to strengthen its social responsibility measures.
Gamban’s blocking technology prevents at risk customers and problem gamblers from accessing any websites that might contain gambling content.
The blocker, which only bars gambling websites and cannot be uninstalled, will be offered to Kindred’s customer base for up to three devices for free from 10 April.
According to the gamban website, the technology updates automatically to sync with the firm’s database, which it claims is the “largest international gambling database”.
The Nordic operator said it hopes the collaboration will ensure that more people who need help to control their play will find an appropriate solution.
Kindred’s integrity analytics manager Maris Bonello said: “While gambling is entertaining to the majority of our customers, some do not see it that way.
“That is why we have chosen to collaborate with gamban as one of many tools we provide so our customers can remain in control of their gambling,” she added.
In January, Kindred announced another partnership with an AdBlocker tool to stop under 18s from being exposed to adverts containing gambling-related content.
