Kambi enters Mexico with multi-channel deal
Sportsbook supplier to provide Mexico's PlayCity Casino group with fixed-odds betting terminals ahead of potential online launch
Kambi is set to enter the Mexican market for the first time after striking a deal to provide the PlayCity Casino group with an in-house sportsbook.
Under terms of the deal with Grupo Televisa, which owns the PlayCity Casino brand, Kambi will also look to develop an online sportsbook offering for the casino in the near future.
Kambi said it would initially deploy its fixed-odds betting terminals at two PlayCity casinos, and would explore “the multi-channel potential” following the proof of concept launch.
Kambi CEO Kristian Nylen said Grupo Televisa was a “future market leader in Mexico” and the deal was aligned with the supplier’s strategy of focusing on licensed operators around the world.
“We hope this will be the first step towards a long and successful partnership,” Nylen added.
The deal marks Kambi’s fourth foray into the land-based industry, with the company having so far concentrated its efforts on the online sector through deals with European operators such as Unibet, 888 and Paf.
The supplier signed a similar deal with Cambodia’s NagaWorld casino last year, and also provides a self-service and over-the-counter service in Belgium for Napoleon Gaming and in Georgia with Casino Iveria.
