Intertain pays £1.5m for Parlay Games' bingo software
Firm has also acquired Parlay's Bingo.ca domain, which it will use as a free-play platform to showcase its product offering to Canadian lottery operators
Intertain has agreed a licensing agreement for Parlay Games’ bingo software as well as the domain Bingo.ca for CA$2.8m (£1.5m), in a deal which hands the Toronto-based operator its first propriety bingo platform.
Under the all-cash deal, Intertain will have access to Parlay’s back office system, HTML5 mobile bingo products, plus additional casino, mini and side games and said it would begin integrating the platform into its Ver&John back-end immediately.
“Intertain has acquired some of the leading bingo brands in the world during the past 12 months and it has been our plan to eventually own a proprietary bingo platform to provide the company with options and flexibility for our current and future business,” John Fitzgerald (pictured), Intertain CEO, said.
“This deal will immediately enable Vera&John to integrate the bingo platform and additional side games into its existing platform in order to move forward with a bingo offering for its customers,” he added.
The deal comes after Intertain completed its $800m takeover of Gamesys’ Jackpotjoy, Botemania, and Starspins brands back in April, having also acquired Vera&John earlier in the year.
Intertain also said that the acquisition on Bingo.ca would allow it to launch a Canada-facing free-play bingo network in order to showcase its products and bingo expertise to provincial lottery operators.
