IGT board reshuffle following retirement of chair
Internal board appointments see current CEO become chair and long-time adviser switch to CEO role
The retirement of Lorenzo Pellicioli as chair of the IGT board of directors has led to a management reshuffle. Having served as chair since November 2018, Pellicioli will remain as a non-executive director of IGT. Marco Sala, currently CEO of IGT, will become chair of the board while director Vincent Sadusky will become CEO. IGT has undergone numerous transformations in the last 15 years. Originally Lottomatica, the group acquired GTECH in August 2006 before taking on its name. GTECH then acquired IGT in 2015 and likewise did the same. Sala has been CEO at NYSE-listed IGT since 2015 and before that spent six years as CEO of GTECH while Sadusky spent two years as CEO of US Hispanic media company Univision Communications, alongside having served as a corporate adviser to IGT since 2010. In a statement, IGT said of the reshuffle: “The changes to the IGT executive team and board are an important step in positioning the company for the next phase of its evolution. “It’s a natural evolution for Marco to lead the IGT board. More importantly, during his 19 years at IGT and its predecessor companies, he has a proven track record of success and has earned the trust and respect of IGT’s customers, investors, business partners and regulators. “Likewise we are delighted to announce that Vince Sadusky will succeed Marco as CEO. Vince brings a unique set of skills to the role, where he combines his knowledge of IGT with his ability to create shareholder value with decades in leadership roles in dynamic industries including digital and media. His transition into CEO will be relatively seamless.” Sala added: “I am looking forward to taking on the new role of executive chair at IGT and to partner with Vince, with whom I have worked extensively over the years. I believe our skills and experiences are complementary and will serve our stakeholders well.” In further board moves, Sadusky’s vacancy will be filled by the appointment of both Maria Pinelli and Ashley Hunter as non-executive directors.
