Hard Rock launches virtual casino with Double Down
Vegas operator is latest to add casino app to its proprietary website in revenue sharing agreement.
Double Down has expanded its partnerships with land-based casinos into Las Vegas, teaming up with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to add a virtual casino on its site.
The social game developer, owned by gaming machine supplier IGT, has signed a series of tie-ups with casinos across the US in recent weeks, including Jacobs Entertainment casinos and Casino Del Sol Resort in Arizona. The deals are based on a revenue sharing agreement.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will host the Double Down Casino application “ one of the most popular of its kind on Facebook “ on its website, giving players a chance to compete against friends and try their hand at winning virtual chips.
The app provides access to the full roster of Double Down’s games including Da Vinci Diamonds and Cleopatra slots, as well as multi-player poker. Other IGT slot games and a new bingo game will be added soon.
Bill Warner, president of WG-Harmon, which manages the property, said of the deal: “Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is constantly looking for ways to enhance our players’ experiences. What the relationship with Double Down Casino enables us to do is provide just that”more fun, more play, more entertainment.”
Eric Tom, executive vice president of global sales at IGT, added: “Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is giving players more entertainment, even when they’re not on the casino floor. Engaging through the website allows players to remain connected to the property they know and trust, with Double Down Casino simply providing the gaming entertainment.”
IGT acquired Double Down Interactive for up to US$500m in January and the social game developer’s casino app is one of the largest gambling-related apps on Facebook.
