GVC eyes gaming expansion with three senior hires
Operator says appointments of Rob Fell, Andrew Whitworth and Oliver Bartlett reflect focus on gaming verticals following bwin.party acquisition
GVC has bolstered its casino and live products management teams with three senior appointments, the operator announced this morning.
Rob Fell has joined as head of casino product and Andrew Whitworth as head of content, while Oliver Bartlett will also take up his position as head of live later next month.
Fell joins GVC after previously working as VP of product at Lottoland where he helped launch the company’s casino and gaming products.
In his new role he will oversee casino platform product development with the objective to deliver “best-in-class, immersive functionality in areas such as casino bonus, customer engagement and content curation”.
Previously Fell has also served as head of web and mobile at Gala Coral Interactive and product and operations manager at Paddy Power for two-and-a-half years.
Whitworth joins GVC as head of content, and will manage the internal game development teams and work with external suppliers on game selection.
He has been in the gaming industry for 15 years, most recently as head of gaming strategy for the Tatts Group’s UK arm Talarius. Previously he worked for SG Gaming as head of content strategy.
Meanwhile, Bartlett will take up his role as head of live later this month and initially focus on growing GVC’s Live Casino product across its consumer and B2B product line-up.
Most recently he was head of VIP and a project manager for bgo.com, where he presided over a number key projects including its transition to Playtech software.
Prior to that Bartlett held senior roles with some several gaming firms including Grosvenor, Caesar’s Entertainment, Genting and Full Tilt.
GVC said the new hires reflected a renewed focus on the gaming verticals, which have been made a priority since the acquisition of bwin.party in February 2016.
“Collectively they bring over 30 years of experience in the online gaming sector, and more importantly, new skills-sets which enhance GVC’s capabilities in distinct areas such as product design, customer experience and live casino,” the operator said in a statement.
Each will report directly in to GVC’s chief product officer, Liron Snir, who said: “A key area of focus for us is our casino and live verticals.”
“Our aim is to be best-in-class and these three appointments reflect that objective. Rob, Andy and Oliver bring new skills and experience in the gaming sector that will be transformative to our ability to create and deliver a great quality product and experience to our customers,” Snir added.
