GTECH to rebrand as IGT
Company announces corporate restructure ahead of completing its US$6.4bn acquisition of IGT
GTECH will rebrand its soon-to-be enlarged company to IGT and undertake an organisational restructure as soon as its multi-billion dollar acquisition of International Game Technology has been finalised.
The gaming and lottery provider, which has agreed to pay US$6.4bn for IGT, said that upon completion of the deal the combined entities will be branded as IGT while holding company Georgia Worldwide will change its name to International Game Technology.
The new logo will, however, display the GTECH globe alongside the IGT name while the supplier’s corporate headquarters will be based in the UK, with operational centres in Rome, Las Vegas and Providence, Rhode Island. The business will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol IGT.
The combined business is to be structured into four customer-facing business unit operating in three regions; North America, International and Italy.
The North American business will be made up of two separate units, one to look after its WLA customers and the other for commercial customers and are to be called North America Lottery (NAL) and North America Gaming (NAG), respectively.
NAG will also have global responsibility for the product development, manufacturing, marketing and delivery of all of the company’s gaming offerings, including the DoubleDown Casino business.
As is the case with the current GTECH structure, the International business unit will be responsible for the strategic development and management of all business conducted outside of North America and Italy, across the company’s entire product portfolio.
The International organisation will have specialised and separate sales and operations groups, each supported by the respective North America product and services organizations. The respective legacy International IGT groups will be integrated into the International business unit as appropriate.
The Italy business unit will continue to operate in the same way, however, product development, marketing, manufacturing, and servicing will be supported by North America Lottery and North America Gaming as appropriate.
