GTECH mobile director Shaz Mirza joins PokerStars
Mirza to lead mobile development teams based out of Stars' London office after nearly three years as director of mobile at GTECH
GTECH director of mobile Shaz Mirza has left the supplier after almost three years in order to head-up to PokerStars’ mobile development team.
Mirza has assumed the newly created role of director of mobile services and will be based out of the operator’s London offices, where he will be leading the teams working on PokerStars’ mobile products.
“He brings more than a decade of experience working on mobile gaming products as we look to improve our customer experience,” a spokesperson for PokerStars told eGaming Review.
Mirza was named director of mobile at GTECH’s interactive division in March 2012 and was responsible for its mobile and new channels strategy, working across all of the supplier’s product verticals.
He also served at Ladbrokes as the operator’s mobile and new channels manager between December 2008 and March 2012.
Mirza joins Stars at a time when the operator is preparing to roll-out its first sports betting product, which is expected to be introduced to the operator’s European markets before the end of next month, however mobile versions of the product are not expected until later on in the year.
