GTECH G2 revenues rise in strong 2011 for Lottomatica
Online arm experiences revenue growth of 8.9% while overall group revenues approach 3bn.
Lottomatica-owned solutions provider GTECH G2 saw its revenues rise by 8.9% year-on-year in the first full-year results since the merger of its online and land-based arms.
The increase, from 74.5m to 81.2m, contributed to total group revenues of 2.97bn, a 28.5% rise, helped by 49.8% growth from Lottomatica’s Italian operations. Revenues from SPIELO, meanwhile, rose 4.2% to 198.3m for the 12-monts ended 31 December 2011.
Lottomatica cited “Intersegment sales of new casino and poker products to the Italian operations segment” as a significant factor in GTECH G2 revenues over the course of the year, and the dot.it branch of its International Poker Network ranks third for traffic in the regulated market, which opened up for cash poker last summer after passing legislation last February.
Its dot.com network, however, experienced a decline in traffic of 44% year-on-year while its Canadian-facing network, which added the poker offering of the British Columbia lottery corporation in February 2011, has seen numbers remain relatively flat.
In an interview with eGaming Review earlier this year, CEO of SPIELO and GTECH G2 Walter Bugno (pictured) pledged to reclaim the leading supplier slot, following the merger of the two divisions in October.
A free-play poker deal has been signed with Barona casinos in California, while the FY results mention the 12 interactive customers secured by the company in the newly regulating Spanish market.
Group CEO Marco Sala said of the results: “Overall, our performance exceeded expectations in all major categories. Revenues totalled approximately 3bn, a significant milestone for the Group.”
