Gaming Innovation Group names Robin Reed as CEO
Former managing director of the firm's Maltese subsidiary replaces outgoing chief executive Kjetil Aasen at head of Guts.com parent company
Guts.com owner Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has appointed Robin Reed as the company’s new chief executive officer replacing outgoing CEO Kjetil Aasen.
Reed, who officially took up the role on Friday previously worked for six years as managing director of the group’s Malta-based subsidiary and as owner of the online sportsbook and casino brand Guts.com.
“He has extensive industry experience and strong entrepreneurial skills,” GIG’s chairman of the board, Helge Nielsen, said.
“We are looking forward to seeing him develop and grow GIG’s businesses further,” he added.
Aasen served as CEO at GIG from May 2014 and will continue to work for the firm as product manager odds services.
Delaware-headquartered GIG was recently rebranded from Nio Inc. as part of a strategic company decision and the new CEO said he was confident the company was in a strong position.
“GIG’s knowledge base and collaborative partnership models make us well positioned and able to scale-up businesses rapidly,” Reed said.
“Moving forward, my job will be to continue to both grow our existing business and commercialise our pipeline of innovative, new concepts,” he added.
GIG was acquired by Nio Inc. in February for an unknown sum and in addition to owning Guts.com and iCloud Gaming, also owns marketing firm Innovation Labs and Candid Gaming which launched its BetSpin.com gaming site in January.
Last week GIG announced its Guts.com brand had ended its platform partnership with EveryMatrix with the Nordic-facing operator relaunching on its parent company’s iGaming Cloud platform.
