Gamesys takes first steps into real-money poker
Wild Seat Poker aims to bring social interaction back into the game of poker
Gamesys has taken its first steps into the real-money poker market for the first time with the launch of Wild Seat Poker.
Wild Seat has launched under its Virgin Games site, and has been designed to offer a more social experience to players, which Gamesys said continued its tradition of delivering innovation to the gaming market.
The game features a chat element, as well as poker chat hosts who play in the tournaments and give players the chance to try their luck and skill against them.
Any money won by the hosts is then redistributed back to players via a special weekly tournament
“Poker is a game rich in social interaction, but in recent times it is our belief that this aspect has been diminished in favour of financial motivations,” Simon Mizzi, Gamesys, marketing director said.
“Wild Seat Poker is our first step at offering players a game that not only brings the true essence of poker to life, but also fosters an environment that focuses on entertainment to engage our players,” he added.
Gamesys has been developing new products since selling its bingo brands – Jackpotjoy, Botemania, and Starspins – to Intertain last year.
Under the deal, Gamesys is not allowed to launch B2C bingo brands for a number of years with the firm now working on the launch of its own sportsbook product.
