Gamesys confirms Tropicana deal in New Jersey
UK operator will provide Atlantic City casino with its first online gaming platform
Online and social gaming operator Gamesys has confirmed it will partner with Tropicana Casino and Resort for an egaming launch in New Jersey.
The deal provides the London-based company with its first foothold in the US market and puts it in line for launch later this year, subject to obtaining a licence.
Under New Jersey regulations only existing land-based casinos can operate online gambling in the state, a law which has sparked numerous partnerships between European egaming firms and Atlantic City properties.
Gamesys operates online bingo and slots sites which it offers in European regulation markets and it also developing its first poker offering. It was also the first operator to launch real-money games on Facebook, releasing Bingo and Slots Friendzy in August last year.
“We have always sought ambitious partners and Tropicana Atlantic City is a great partner for Gamesys as internet gaming comes to New Jersey,” Noel Hayden, founder and CEO of Gamesys told the Press of Atlantic City website. “We look forward to working with the team at Tropicana to leverage the very best of the Gamesys platform and capabilities to serve existing customers and win new customers online.”
“Gamesys has a proven track record in the United Kingdom of providing excellent products and customer service, and we look forward to launching Tropicana’s internet gaming business with them,” Tony Rodio, Tropicana president and CEO, added.
Other partnerships in New Jersey include Betfair teaming up with Trump Plaza, Trump Taj Mahal and Ultimate Gaming, PokerStars and Resorts, and 888 agreeing a software supplier deal with Caesars.
