Game Lounge acquires Interclick Limited for $1.5m
Cherry-owned business targets Germany and UK markets with latest acquisition in the affiliate space
Cherry-owned affiliate network Game Lounge has expanded its presence in the German and UK markets after buying affiliate marketing company Interclick Limited for $1.5m (£1.15m).
The deal will see Game Lounge acquire more than 40 new domains and affiliate accounts and is estimated to boost annual revenue and EBITDA by approximately $1.3m and $1m respectively.
Interclick Limited, which will be integrated into Game Lounge’s existing operations, is predicted to generate ROI in less than 18 months.
Jonas Cederholm, CEO of Game Lounge, said: “We are very happy to have reached an agreement with Interclick Limited, a company that has a long experience of affiliation.
“Both the German and UK markets are large and growing rapidly.
“The acquisition of the Interclick assets further accelerates our strategy and expansion beyond Scandinavia, and will be a beneficial contribution from day one.”
Today’s announcement comes just weeks after Game Lounge expanded its foothold in Finland’s egaming market after paying $1.2m (£850,000) to acquire a number of domains from a “prominent affiliate”.
“We have been very pleased with the performance of Game Lounge so far, and this acquisition [Interclick Limited] is very much in line with Cherry’s expansion plans,” Cherry CEO, Fredrik Burvall, said.
“The affiliate market is an important part of the online gaming industry and Cherry continues to strengthen its online business with this acquisition.”
