Gambling.com Group appoints Fredrik Burvall to board of directors
Former Cherry CEO joins the affiliate company’s board having left the Nordic operator in January 2017
Gambling.com Group has appointed former Cherry CEO Fredrik Burvall to its board of directors.
Burvall’s appointment at the group was effective from 1 December, with the Swede also serving on the board of directors for Enteractive Malta Ltd and Stockholm-listed company Aspire Global.
He left his post at Cherry in January 2017.
Gambling.com Group CEO Charles Gillespie said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Fredrik Burvall as our first independent director.
“Fredrik’s broad experience in the online gaming sector will certainly help the Group achieve its aggressive growth plans in the coming years.”
Having spent more than 11 years at Cherry, Burvall oversaw acquisitions including performance marketing company Game Lounge in 2015 and the group’s purchase of Nordic-focused online operator ComeOn in 2016.
Burvall said of his appointment: “I’m thrilled to have begun a new chapter of my career with Gambling.com Group, the company which holds the industry’s best domain name.”
Burvall is the latest addition in the group’s ongoing recruitment drive, after the firm made Catena Media’s Gavin Walters its new director of business development.
