Gala Bingo âfirst to launchâ live chat on mobile
Gala Coral subsidiary claims to be the first operator to incorporate a live chat function into its portfolio of mobile products
Gala Bingo has become one of the first operators to launch a live chat functionality on its mobile and tablet products, eGR Mobile Intelligence has learned.
The operator said the design of the live chat was inspired by popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook messenger, with features including the date and time on each post and a notification that the other person is typing.
The in-app live chat feature also allows players to contact customer service agents on the go as well as making it easy for agents contact players directly.
âWe are delighted to be the first operator to launch the chat functionality into our mobile and tablet offering,â Itay Fisher, Gala Coralâs product and technology director, told eGR.
âWe believe that we will be able to increase dramatically the level of support to our players and significantly enhance the player experience,â he added.
The bingo brand has also launched Gala TV within its tablet product, enabling players to tune into its daily interactive live show between 7pm and 12am.
Gala TV features a number of celebrities including Strictly Come Dancingâs Alison Hammond and Loose Women panellist Sherry Hewson, as well as a new bingo product which contains a variety of new games and prizes.
Earlier this year Gala Bingo launched its new female-targeted sports betting product âFlutterâ in partnership with sportsbook provider OpenBet in time for the FIFA World Cup and later released a new lottery betting tab .
Gala Bingo said at the time that launching Flutter on mobile would be the next phase of its development and a spokesperson for the company confirmed yesterday that mobile functionality is still in development.
