Full Tilt signs poker pros Dwan and Blom
Dwan was youngest member of Team Full Tilt while Blom had been a PokerStars pro until August this year.
Full Tilt Poker has named Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom as its latest sponsored pros, joining brand ambassador Gus Hansen.
Dwan (right), like ‘face of the site’ Hansen, was a member of Team Full Tilt. However he began representing the operator in 2009, becoming the 14th and youngest member of the team.
Meanwhile Blom (left) had represented PokerStars from January 2011 until August this year, recording his biggest ever live cash of US$1.25m during the period.
Full Tilt Poker head of marketing Sarne Lightman said:”Through our continual innovations, Full Tilt Poker is proud to have been at the forefront of that evolution. In choosing our pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played.”
Lightman described Dwan as “One of the most feared and respected players in the world today”, and hinted at the 26-year-old’s involvement in high-stakes cash games on Full Tilt before the previous incarnation of the site shut down its US operations last year.
Blom is also best known for taking part in these games under his ‘Isildur1’ nickname, and the Swede said: “I always loved playing on the Full Tilt Poker software, it is where I made my name and enjoyed some of my greatest victories. When they approached me about joining the team I knew this was the right fit for me.”
Full Tilt Poker is set to relaunch on 6 November after being acquired by PokerStars in July, however it will not be operational in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Italy, Spain and the United States. It confirmed last week that its application for an Isle of Man egaming licence had been successful.
