Full Tilt contacts players as relaunch nears
Select number of players sent email requiring them to send documents for account verification.
Full Tilt Poker (FTP) has contacted a limited number of players giving them instructions on how to verify their accounts ahead of the operator’s relaunch later this year.
According to an email posted in the Two Plus Two poker forums and verified by FTP poker room manager Shyam Markus, players are required to verify their identity “In the interest of account security and in accordance with the anticipated Isle of Man regulatory requirements.”
Following its takeover of FTP in July, PokerStars revealed that it was in discussions with regulatory authorities on the Isle of Man with a view to securing an operating licence for its former rival brand in the whitelisted jurisdiction, and eGaming Review understands these discussions are still ongoing.
Rational Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, one of the companies under the PokerStars umbrella, currently holds licences in the region covering the dot.com, dot.eu, dot.net and dot.co.uk versions of its flagship site.
The relaunch of Full Tilt Poker is due to take place on or before 6 November, that date being 90 days after PokerStars completed the US$225m payment to United States authorities required to ratify the deal.
Rational FT Services Ltd, the Ireland-based company which provides services to FTP including marketing and poker room management, recently advertised for a number of IT and marketing jobs, and in the last few days added the position of Head of HR to the listings.
