Fortuna CEO to join Catena Media board
Per Widerström recommended for a position on the Catena Media board after Optimizer Invest duo decline re-election
Fortuna CEO Per Widerström will be recommended as a new Catena Media board member at the firm’s 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Widerström has more than 15 years’ experience in egaming at firms including Gala Coral and bwin and has been recommended alongside the CFO of research firm ICA Handlarnas Förbund, Göran Blomberg.
The Catena board will vote on the recommendations at the company’s 2019 AGM in May, after existing board members and Optimizer Invest co-founders Henrik Persson Ekdahl and Andre Lavold declined re-election as a result of Optimizer Invest selling SEK 463m worth of Catena shares in 2018.
In January, Optimizer Invest again reduced its exposure to Catena by redistributing the remaining shares to the direct ownership of Ekdahl, Lavold and fellow co-founder Mikael Riese Harstad.
Joining Widerström on the board will be Blomberg, who has more than 30 years of C-level experience, mainly as the CFO of several large public companies including Hakon Invest AB and Retail and Brands AB.
Widerström spoke to EGR Intel last year about Fortuna’s ‘glocal’ growth strategy.
