Former QPR director invests in Worldlink
Andrew Ellis' company Across the Line secures 51% stake in company, which has egaming partnerships with multiple football clubs.
Across the Line, a company backed by UK-based property and football entrepreneur Andrew Ellis, has taken a 51% stake in Worldlink Sports, the sports and gaming arm of mobile data company Worldlink.
A former board member with Premier League team Queens Park Rangers and one-time chairman of fellow English club Northampton Town, Ellis’ company is investing £1.3m for upfront commitments and will contribute up to £1.2m to fund future deals.
Worldlink Sports already has betting and gaming partnerships in place with Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Sunderland, including the introduction of betting apps powered by betting concierge service Bet Butler, following the appointment of former UEFA Champions League marketing chief Stephen Pearson as CMO.
Worldlink will receive a 15% share of future revenues from Worldlink Sports, while it has issued a series of share warrants which may be exercised for 12 months from 11 July this year at varying rates per share.
