Former Paddy Power online media head joins Fifty-Three Six
Industry veteran Paul Glynn swaps DAZN for new role with marketing company that boasts bet365 as a client
Former Paddy Power Betfair head of online media Paul Glynn has been named as head of media and strategy for sports marketing agency Fifty-Three Six.
Glynn links up with the agency in a newly created role after spending more than three years with sports streaming giant DAZN.
He most recently served as VP of paid media from August 2021 until June 2022, previously having served as head of paid social and interim head of acquisition.
Glynn also spent 13 years across the Paddy Power and Betfair brands from June 2006 until January 2019.
After re-joining Paddy Power after a two-year stint with Betfair, Glynn quickly moved up the senior ranks at the bookmaker.
He re-joined as a social media advertising manager in April 2016 before becoming head of social media marketing in March 2017.
A final role in the industry saw him become head of online media in November 2017.
Glynn will be responsible for developing a new business pipeline and shaping the company’s digital and media strategy.
Dublin- and London-based Fifty-Three Six was founded in 2016 and works with the likes of bet365 and the FA of Ireland.
Speaking on his arrival, Glynn said: “From our early conversations, it was clear our views were aligned and we saw similar trends within the sector.
“I have seen first-hand the challenges that rights holders and brands face in the current marketplace and I believe Fifty-Three Six are extremely well positioned for the next generation of sports marketing,” he added.
Tom Fox, Fifty-Three Six co-founder, commented: “Paul’s skill set within the sports, gaming and paid media landscapes will complement our offering superbly. We look forward to driving increased value and growth for our clients in the years to come.”
