Former Mr Green CEO joins Luckbox board of directors
Ex-PokerStars casino director Bo Wänghammar links up with esports-first operator
Luckbox has appointed former Mr Green CEO Bo Wänghammar to its board of directors.
Wänghammar served as Mr Green CEO from January 2014 until April 2016, before transitioning to business development director to oversee the company’s Latin American strategy.
Wänghammar also spent more than three years with PokerStars, initially as managing director of casino from February 2017 until July 2019.
He was then promoted to become director of international projects until his retirement in July 2020.
Wänghammar joins current chair Drew Green and CEO Thomas Rosander on the board.
Lloyd Melnick and Maruf Raza make up the remainder of the five-person board.
Wänghammar will replace Mike Stevens who has resigned from his position as director to focus on his family and charity work.
Speaking on appointment, Rosander praised Wänghammar’s impressive track record of overseeing growth at Mr Green and PokerStars.
He said: “I am thrilled a seasoned operator such as Bo will be joining our board. This is an exciting stage for the company as we look to scale our user acquisition efforts and revenues and I believe his experience and guidance will be invaluable.
“His track record speaks for itself, as during his time at PokerStars he oversaw the doubling of revenues to more than $500m, growing the casino vertical to outperform the core poker offering.
“During Bo Wänghammar’s time at Mr Green, the business grew quickly and achieved strong profitability, and we believe he was instrumental in refactoring the technical infrastructure to launch a portfolio of award-winning products,” Rosander added.
